Cavalier Hotel
"Worst Hotel I have Ever Stayed In!!!"
Date: January 11, 2006
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, NYC
his hotel was the pits. We were there for two days and when we asked
for a remote control for the TV, they said they only had one and our
friends had just taken it. I then proceeded to ask for clean towels,
due to the fact that NO ONE came to clean our rooms, and the lady
at the front desk said that she had to go get some, because there
were no more clean... What a mess. When we first got there, we even
tried to explain that the rooms that we were seeing were not the rooms
we saw pics of and the lady told us that we should view things before
we purchase, basically that we should have asked to see the rooms
before we put the money down. Worst time of our lives. The bathroom
that we had wasnt even big enough for a person to turn around in.
Insane!! We had two huge trash dumpsters right outside our window
as well and construction going on from 7am to about 5pm. No one from
the "lovely" staff bothered to bring this to our attention.
Worst Mistake of our lives.
Cavalier Hotel "Fantastic gem of a hotel"
Date: January 6, 2006
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Boston, MA
Stayed there for New Years eve It was fantastic. The hotel staff went
out of their way to make sure that we had a great time. The restaurant
was one of the best I have had dinner at in Miami Beach. I come to
south Florida almost once a month, and this is the first time I stayed
at this hotel, well it certainly was a pleasent surprise. I highly
recommend it. The rooms where clean and we had many ammenities. We
messed up and left our do not disturb sign on till 5 PM. So the maids
where gone and we told the front desk that we had left to see the
parade and forgot to remove the sign. No problem the maid apparently
lived only a few blocks away and came in at 8 PM only to make our
room up while we where having dinner. This was completely above and
beyond any call of duty. That is why I say the staff is the best I
have seen, and the hotel was decorated very nice for the holidays.
We will return to this hotel every time we come to Miami Beach again.
Cavalier Hotel "Loved the cavalier"
Date: November 23, 2005
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Washington DC
I stayed at the Cavalier during Hurricane Rita while it passed through
the keys. We stayed at the hotel from the 15th to the 21st of September
2005.
The hotel Staff went out of their way to insure that we all where
kept well informed, and provided us with free drinks at the bar the
day when Miami Beach was empty and everything was closed. I cannot
say enough good things about this staff. They might not speak fluent
English, but then who does these days in Miami Beach. Their
attitude and service more than made up for that. The rooms are adequate
at about 250 Sq Ft in size, and although we had read some reviews
that where negative about the size of the rooms, we did not notice
any difference in the size from the 5 or 6 other hotels we have
stayed at in the past, on Ocean Dr. The hotel is a historical hotel,
and if some folks are into new buildings and new rooms then don't
come to this hotel. But if you want to stay on Ocean Dr., at an
Art Deco hotel, this is without doubt the best we have ever stayed
at.
The central AC worked perfect, the thermostat in our room worked
wonderfully, we had brand new towels never used before, every day.
I mention these things only because someone else had complained
about them on this site about another hotel on Ocean drive, so that
you may compare.
The room we stayed in was quiet and everything worked perfect.
This was without doubt the best place we have stayed at in Miami
Beach. I highly recommend it. I will come back to this hotel when
visiting Miami Beach again, before going anywhere else.
Cavalier Hotel "Run!"
Date: September 17, 2005
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Miami, FL
Listen to the 1st reviewer. Exactly right, I can't believe I didn't
see this review before going. Its like the type of hotel you would
expect "ladies of the night" to bring their guests for
an hour or so. We left immediately. Aso smelled like a sewer.
Cavalier Hotel "It's your worst nightmare"

Worst hotel ever. when we first got there we were given the
wrong room, then another room with people already in it....there
was no hair dryer, no face towels, NO ICE MACHINE (the hotel
bar had a little tub of ice for everyone to share), THE STAFF
KNEW NO ENGLISH, poor maid service, tv remote held together
by tape, NO FRIDGE omg the list keeps going. if u really hate
somebody tell them to stay here!!!! poor management. so sad.
