We made a reservation at 9:00. After getting bumped around in the bar area for over an hour and a half, I finally stole someone elses reservation. After calling for a party of two and them not showing, we claimed to be that couple. Who knows how much longer we would have waited. After getting seats outside the weather turned bad and we were moved inside... except our food did not show up. Apparently they cleared our table and threw out our meal. We didn't really care though because my steak was terrible. My girlfriend said hers was okay, but frankly I think she was trying to make the best of a bad situation. I have no idea why this place is so popular! Smith & Wollensky "Superb experience" Date: August 31, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Verona, Italy We were at S&W for a dine out with friends on Aug, 15th 2005; it was a stunning experience: we're italian, and we love great food; so, we much appreciated the delicious Lobster for appetizer and loved both the fillets AND the fresh, grilled grouper!! I would definetely recommend the desserts: they're huge and tasty, with wide choice! The only thing was that we saw an advertisement on a plane that afternoon saying "Pay your age", and when we were about to pay that night, they apologized saying that "that plane wasn't planned to fly over Miami beach but over ... DALLAS!!"...this was the only disapointing thing that happened to us on that wonderful evening! So this our 1st experience was HEAVENLY.The Service Was Impeccable,Courteous,friendly staff.We had the Smith & Wollensky Thanksgiving Entree, with the Ice on our Glasses never touching from the pampering,The Turkey was tender,The dressing unlike any I've tasted,The Grand Finale of Pecan Dessert was served with wonderful icecream with teardrops of Caramel.We will spend more Holidays Here,Smith & Wollensky the place for all Celebrations Smith & Wollensky "A great night out" Date: September 20, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Miami , FL USA On Friday night I wanted to take my new boyfriend of just a couple months out. He has been very generous and I wanted to show him that I enjoyed the time we have spent together. I want it to be perfect. Someone recommended Smith & Wollensky. We had a great time the wine was perfect the steaks were the best I have ever had and the wait staff was professional and top of the line. I would recommend Smith & Wollensky to anyone. Smith
