Oleta River State Park |
What you should know
At 993-acres,
Oleta River State Park is
the largest urban park in the state. The park is best known for its
numerous biking trails, ranging from novice to experienced. The park
loans bicycle helmets, and trust me, you'll need one.
At the north end of the park is a beautiful mangrove forest. Visitors
can rent canoes and kayaks to explore the plants and wildlife of this
area. There is a sandy saltwater beach that is popular for swimming,
and fishing is also allowed.
There are pavilions with water, and one with electricity, available
for rental. Picnic tables and grills are located around the park.
For overnight stays, the park has rustic, air-conditioned cabins and
a youth campground for groups.
