$25 and Under Dining in South Beach- Pasha’sIf your wallet can’t handle another overpriced dinner in South Beach, don’t feel like a greasy slice of pizza is your only option. For less than the price of an entrée at most other restaurants on Lincoln Road you can have a full dinner at Pascha’s. They serve up healthy, fresh and delicious Mediterranean cuisine at reasonable prices. > While strolling on South Beach’s famous Lincoln Road, Pascha’s may look like just another pricey restaurant, but rest assured-it’s not. While every other restaurant’s hostess is trying to reel you in, their hostess simply smiles and asks if you’d like to sit inside or outside, and whether you prefer to serve yourself or would like a server. Order at the counter and you’ll save you the automatic 15% gratuity. Can I Get Some Tabbouleh With That Melon Juice? The menu has something for everyone, from fresh salads, soups, wraps, and filling platters with rice, veggies, and flavorful grilled meats. On my most recent visit, I ordered my usual - Choban salad topped with chicken shish kebab skewers and a whole wheat pita on the side. The salad consists of tomato, cucumber, bell peppers, onions, and Kalamata olives, marinated in heart healthy extra virgin olive oil and Mediterranean herbs. For an extra charge I added Feta cheese and the Shish Kebab Skewers (charbroiled marinated chicken breast chunks with grilled peppers and onions). You can also top the salad with Vegetarian Falafel, Beef, or Salmon kebabs. Other dishes worth mentioning are the lentil soup, tabbouleh, and spinach borek (flaky pastry with spinach and cheese filling). My favorite thing about Pascha’s is their selection of fresh squeezed juices. Where else can you get tangerine juice? Once you try the heavenly tangerine juice, Florida will never make you think of oranges again. Although their tangerine juice is seasonal, their other delicious juices, including melon and pineapple, are always available. Dr. Arthur Ageston, author of “The South Beach Diet†even approves of Pascha’s healthy menu, and features several recipes from Pascha’s in his South Beach Diet cookbook. He never mentions how he feels about their chocomousse, a decadent mousse made with European chocolate or their delicious pistachio macaroons. With desserts ranging from $1.60- $4.50, you can have a treat without breaking the bank. Dine In Style You won’t just be impressed by the food- the dining atmosphere offers the tranquility of a small Greek island. Inside you’re surrounded by blue and white alfresco walls, billowy white curtains, and white leather furniture that make you wonder how your dinner will be less than $25. Or, dine outdoors in style on trendy Lincoln Rd-where people watching is a sport. You’re sitting at the same tables other people pay big bucks for. .< Wine is available at reasonable prices, so sit back and relax as you linger over dinner. Enjoy the warm outdoor weather and people watching for less than you thought possible. My dinner total was $17, about the same price as one drink at most clubs.
