This is How Miami Beach 411 Parties
One of the most frequent complaints we hear about Miami from people who have just moved here is how difficult it is to meet new people.
But that’s before they attend one of our frequent get-togethers.
From boating to baseball games to South Beach dinners and happy hours, the Miami Beach 411 crew is always mingling.
And everybody and anybody who contributes to our forums is usually welcome.
Below are a few photos from a few of our get-togethers this year.
Some were organized by Miami Beach 411 itself and others were hosted by some of our members.
Most photos, with the exception of the first five and another one further down, were shot with my iPhone.

Miami Beach forum member Fred Garvin, right, and staff writer Matt Meltzer joined me as I conducted research for my article on Irish pubs.
The three above shots were taken at the Air concert in early March. In the shot directly above, Michelle is in the middle and Katalina is on the right.
Above: The Miami Beach 411 crew attended a Miami Heat game sponsored by Life is Art, which is operated by Miami Beach 411 member Coach. I couldn’t resist posing for the above photo while Gus shot it with my iPhone.
The next set of shots were taken at the Marlins game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Miami Beach 411 member, Under the Sun (pictured in top photo), an avid Dodgers fan hosted the event and did an exceptional job operating the grill.
At one point in the game, Matt Meltzer got into a wrestling match with a group of kids over a foul ball. He ended up losing the fight.
The three shots of the Mermaids, which are the Marlin cheerleaders, were the only photos besides the top four photos in this set taken with my digital SLR.
Miami Beach 411 member GandJ (Glenn) and his lovely wife Janet were kind enough to take Gus, Michelle and I out on his boat one lazy Sunday afternoon. From left to right, Gus, Michelle, Janet and Glenn.

Great idea to do this Carlos! It’s like a digital scrapbook..We did have so many great meet-ups. Let’s not forget Monty’s, Carrabas, Nikki Beach, and the Gansevort!
