I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (Calle Ocho Weekend)

The final event of Carnaval Miami, Calle Ocho, takes place Sunday. There will be plenty of food and entertainment for the whole family. Another event going on outside this weekend is a Tour of Miami Beach Gardens Saturday beginning at Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Be sure to visit the Shona Stone Sculptures while you’re there as this is the last weekend they’ll be on display.

There are lots more events going on inside!!! The popular Broadway musical Wicked has arrived at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (through April 6th). Big names to be found on South Florida stages this weekend include Liza Minelli, Martin Short, and Blue Man Group. There’s also Brazilian singer Denisse de Kalafe, Urban Bush Women and Compagnie Jant-Bi, NC duo Eymarel with performances at Jazid and at Tobacco Road.

Films this weekend include The Belly of An Architect and Oscar Shorts! 2008: LIVE ACTION Short Films at the Cinematheque. New releases to be seen at the theaters include Doomsday, Never Back Down and Horton Hears a Who.
