Dolphins Are Smart

Scientists know dolphins are smart. They just didn’t know how smart they are.

Florida researches have discoverd dolphins are able to recognise themselves and other members of the same species as individuals with separate identities, using whistles.

Dr. Vincent Janik of St Andrews University is quoted as saying:

“I think it is a very exciting discovery because it means that these animals have evolved the same abilities as humans.”

The research was conducted in Sarasota Bay off Florida’s west coast.
