Google Maps Car Spotted in Miami

Attention Miami motorists, be on the lookout for the Google Maps car. We spotted her mapping the streets, twice this week. She’s not hard to miss. The car is a blue Subaru Impreza, with a basketball size orb, mounted on the roof. The orb contains nine directional cameras for the 360Â° views and a GPS unit for positioning and laser range scanners.

The first time we saw the car was Monday at Biltmore Hotel, while on The Original Miami Sightseeing Tour, and I really hope she snapped a picture of our bus.

Don’t know why, but I get so excited when I see anything Google-related!

Good thing it has a sign that says Google, otherwise it would be just another strange car on South Fla’s roads!

Good thing! When I was checking out SoBe on google earth/maps I got to SoFi and thought it was a bad area based on images. I just looked at one page though..really my fault..but yeah if it’s a ritzy area don’t include the homeless guy on a bike being followed by a skinny dog!
