Headbutt Rules of EtiquetteWith Miami being such a big soccer/fútbol town, I am suprised there has not been more discussion about the World Cup’s headbutt heard round the world. Thankfully, Matt Heller from Miami Beach, Florida has shed some light on headbutting etiquette. He provides a series of hypothetical situations to consider, and color-codes them to show his own opinions: in red where headbutting may be appropriate, yellow for borderline situations, and blue when you might want to just turn the other cheek. Matt provides a comprehensive grammar of headbutting rules, while at the same time forcing his readers to ask themselves when and where violence is acceptable. For those of you who do not know, in addition to being a thought provoking writer, Matt Heller is also a double bassist and currently an orchestral fellow with the with the New World Symphony. After reading Matt’s article, I would think twice before throwing around the term “band geek”. Check out his blog hella frisch.
