I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (10/24-10/30)The event calendar is a little lighter this week than the last few weeks but there are some noteworthy events going on… GNR is in concert at the Bank Atlantic Center Tuesday (10/24). If you don’t know what GNR stands for, then it’s not important to you. Perhaps you’d be more interested to hear that Barbara Streisand and Il Divo will also be at the Bank Atlantic Center this week on Saturday (10/28) and Monday (10/30). Or if Cheap Trick was more your style, they’ll be at Hard Rock Live Sunday (10/29). Feel like appreciating some alcohol? In addition to the usual happy hours and parties on the calendar, Wine Down Wednesdays (10/25) at VINO Miami has been added and Doraku is hosting a Sake Tasting on Thursday (10/26). More concerned about your garden? South Florida’s popular landscape architect Raymond Jungles will be presenting “Go Native!: Ideas to Make Your Garden a Natural Habitat” at the Wolfsonian on Thursday (10/26). Looking for a laugh? Jay Leno is at Hard Rock Live on Wednesday (10/25); Randy Newman will be at Carnival Center’s Knight Concert Hall on Thursday (10/26); Mitch Fatel will be at Knight Concert Hall on Friday (10/27); and Mo’nique will be at the Jackie Gleason Theater on Saturday (10/28). In opera, Don Pasquale will be presented one-night-only at the Colony Theater and Aida begins at Carnival Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House on Saturday (10/28). Also notable: the Antique Jewelry, Watch, and Fine Silver Show will be going on at the Convention Center all weekend (10/27-10/29); Aterciopelados and Javier Garcia will be in concert at Carnival Center’s Knight Concert Hall on Saturday (10/28); and Devin Bing will be in concert at Jazid Monday (10/30). Our event calendar has no Halloween parties on it! If you know of one, please submit it here.
