I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (10/4 - 10/10)There is so much going on this week, I don’t know where to begin!!! Yes, I do. The long anticipated opening of the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts! This weekend, Thursday (10/5) - Sunday (10/8), is Grand Opening weekend and the Carnival Center took it literally. There will be concerts and parades and fireworks and every kind of performer from all over the world. Sunday is even a free day for Miami to see what it’s all about. Michelle and Gus already got a sneak peek, see what they have to say and check out the photos. Also at the Carnival Center, on Monday (10/9), Jamie Cullum will be in concert in Knight Concert Hall. And there is still so much more going on… Who can forget that Miami Carnival is this weekend? The International Caribbean Music Festival will be in Bicentennial Park all day Saturday (10/7). In keeping with tradition, the 11th Annual Miami Socafest is also Saturday (10/7) at Metropolis. The Miami Carnival Parade & Festival have become part of the Carnival Center’s grand opening weekend on Sunday (10/8). And the Hispanic Heritage Festival continues. This weekend’s event, Discovery of America Day, will take place at Bayfront Park on Sunday (10/8). If you’re not too tired from all this partying, Studio A will be having a Classic House Dance Party beginning at 11pm on Sunday (10/8). I’ve gotten ahead of myself, I should back up for a minute…If you’re into legends, Hall & Oates are at Hard Rock Live tonight (10/4), and the O’Jays and Commodores are there tomorrow (10/5). Dennis Miller will be at the Kravis Center for the Arts on Saturday (10/7). For you boaters and fisherman, the Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show is at the Fair Expo Center Friday (10/6) - Sunday (10/8). For you car-lovers, the South Florida International Auto Show is at the Convention Center Friday (10/6) through Sunday, October 15. In the theater, Just a Kiss, a new play by Catherine Bush about two actresses who must do a love scene, starts today (10/4) and runs through October 29. Also, the Italian Film Festival will be at the Regal Theater Thursday (10/5) - Wednesday (10/11). There is so much going on, you can’t possibly say you’re bored this weekend!!!!
