I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (4/11 - 4/16)

The events this week are a little more mellow than recent weeks but here’s what’s going on…

Carnival Center has two events going on Thursday (4/12): comedienne (and always The Incredible Shrinking Woman to me) Lily Tomlin will be at Knight Concert Hall and Jazz musician Adrián Iaies will be in the Studio Theatre.

Ever heard of PostSecret? I hadn’t until posting this weekend’s events, benefitting CHARLEE Homes for Children, but now I’m hooked! On Friday (4/13) author Frank Warren will be at ArtCenter/South Florida to read from his latest release. Saturday (4/14) is the opening night reception for a PostSecret exhibition of 200 original postcards at the 4 Projects Sales Center that runs through Sunday, April 28th. Frank will be present Saturday for book signings.

Local artist Francesco LoCastro has an exhibit entitled PSYCHE opening at the brand new Antikulture Gallery & Boutique in the Design District. Opening night is Saturday (4/14) and the exhibit will run through May 19th.
Compagnie Marie Chouinard will be performing at the Colony Theatre Friday (4/13) and Saturday (4/14). Tom Jones will be at the BankAtlantic Center Friday and at the James L Knight Center on Sunday (4/15). Throughout the weekend you can see AVP Pro Beach Volleyball at Bicenntennial Park or the Miami Beach Polo World Cup on South Beach. To end your weekend with a laugh, check out Sinbad at Hard Rock Live on Sunday.
