I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (6/5 - 6/11)

There don’t seem to be a lot of events going on this week but there are a few big events worth mentioning…

The Summer Shorts Festival, an annual theater event of 5 - 20 minute plays, begins at Carnival Center’s Studio Theater on Thursday (6/7) and runs through July. This week’s shows take place Thursday (Program A only), Friday (Program B only), and Sunday (both Programs).

The South Florida Boat Show is at the Convention Center Friday (6/8) through Monday (6/11). Fishing seminars will be offered on Saturday and Sunday. The first 50 kids to enter on those days will receive free fishing rods.

The Brazilian Film Festival runs through Saturday (6/9) at the Colony Theater and Miami Beach Cinematheque. Closing awards are at the Colony Theater at 8pm on Saturday, with an afterparty at the South Seas Hotel beginning at 10pm. 

Gerry Kelly’s Annual Birthday Xtravaganza will happen at The Fifth on Saturday. Be sure to call in advance and get on the guest list!

Check out the keyboard and drum duo Eymarel at Jazid Monday night (6/11) at 11pm. They come recommended by the Spam Allstars.
