I’m Bored, What’s There To Do (7/25 - 7/30)For those of you rockers out there, Marilyn Manson and Slayer are at the Sound Advice Amphitheater tonight (Wednesday). If that’s not your style, have you been to Social Miami’s Wednesday night dinner party Tangier Nights? Thursday brings a little more culture to the area. Poetry North’s Summer Arts Dinner will be held at North One 10 or there’s a Pedro Amodovar and Cinespana Wine Tasting at Vino Miami. Or how about Latino night at Santo Restaurant & Lounge? This weekend you’ll find Sandra Bernhard at the Colony Theater (Friday & Saturday nights). At Miami Beach Cinematheque, Cuban-born director Leon Ichaso’s 1996 film Bitter Sugar (Azucar amarga) will be shown Friday night, and his 2001 film Piñero with Benjamin Bratt (he belongs on my Top 5 Crush List), Giancarlo Esposito, Rita Moreno, Mandy Patinkin will be shown Saturday (be one of the first 20 people to arrive either night and receive a free ticket to the Miami premiere of Ichaso’s El Cantante starrring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez). For you ladies, explore your sexy side at an Exotic Dance Class (for every woman, this isn’t Stripper 101) Saturday afternoon at the Energy Fitness Studio. Saturday or Sunday, why not take the kids to Butterfly Days at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden? But it’s not just for kids! See the Event Calendar for ongoing museum exhibits (I’m working on these this week so check back closer to the weekend), theater events, happy hours and dinner parties. Is your event not there? Must be because you haven’t told me about it! (or I’m getting behind in my work). Send it to me. You can also visit the Nightlife section for a list of clubs, wine bars, and more. But you may want to check out the Review section before you head out the door!
