Here’s what’s going on this week… For you homeowners, Miami Beach Botanical Garden is hosting a class on Preparing Your Landscape for Hurricane Season on the 14th (Thursday). Rhythm Foundation is starting off their season with a Fall 2006 Launch Party at The Standard on the 15th (Friday). Meet the Momentum Dance Company dancers after a performance, and stay for the artistic director’s birthday cake, at the Manuel Artime Theatre also on the 15th. And Funkshion Lounge and Restaurant launches Fashion Fridays on the 15th. Shakira and her Oral Fixation Tour is in town the 15th and 16th at the AA Arena. Want to step back a decade? Hootie and the Blowfish are at the Sound Advice Amphitheatre with Better Than Ezra on the 16th (Saturday). You aspiring actors can attend the Actor’s Workshop at Arts at St Johns on the 16th. On the 17th (Sunday), you’re in luck, the Dolphins play the Bills at 1:00 and Momentum Dance Company’s Water Ballet with the Center for Emerging Arts presentation of Handel’s Water Music at The Biltmore doesn’t start until 6:00 so you can fit in both!
