I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (8/3 - 8/9)Looking for something to do inside during this hot summer weekend? Here’s what’s going on… If it’s music you’re looking for, check out the AND 1 Mixtape Tour at the Bank United Center (8/3) or Mariah Carey at the AA Arena (8/5). For more cultural-based music, an Indian Classical Concert featuring Suman Ghosh will take place at the Broward County Library Auditorium (8/5). More interested in theater? The Wolfsonian will be showing the first in a series of censored films, Fire, a film banned in India for its lesbian content (8/3). The Gusman Center will be showing Barnyard in advance of its national release (8/3), Grease (8/4) and Elvis Presley’s Clambake (8/4) on the big screen. On the stage, the South Florida Shakespeare Festival begins at New Theater (8/3 - 8/27) and Seussical the Musical begins at Main Street Playhouse (8/4 - 8/27). Some other alternatives include Flight Night, your own personal wine tasting, at VINO Miami (8/3); Cuban comedian Alvarez Guedes at the Jackie Gleason (8/5); and the Miss Carribean International beauty pageant at the Gusman Center (8/5). There’s also Marlins Baseball if you’re crazy enough to sit out in the heat!!! But then you’re probably a die-hard fan and don’t need us to tell you there are games against the NY Mets (8/3) and LA Dodgers (8/4 - 8/6). See the complete list of events for Thursday (8/3) and Friday (8/4) night happy hours and parties, as well as ongoing performances and exhibits. Don’t see your event listed? Post it here.
