I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (Fashion Week)

As I mentioned last week, Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach has returned! The fashion shows and parties (isn’t this what Miami is all about?) will continue through Saturday (10/13).

Thursday (10/11) Tigertail will hold their free and open to the public season kick-off party at the Albion Hotel; the MGLFF presents the film for the BIBLE tells me so at Cinema Paradiso; Sinbad will be at the Kravis Center; The Neville Borthers will be at Hard Rock Live; and Ricky Martin is at The Filmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater with another show on Friday (10/12).

Also on Friday, Maná is at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Check out the 1986 film The Fly at Miami Beach Cinematechque. Or Miami City Ballet presents Program I - Jewels at the Carnival Center through Sunday (10/14). Those of you preferring theater to ballet may want to check out a modern day Romeo and Juliet presented by the Classical Theatre of Harlem also at the Carnival Center but only through Saturday.

The weekend brings the Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show to the Fair Expo Center; the Bonsai Show and Sale to the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Framing Stage, a one man show starring Sasha Weisfeld, will be at the Cinematheque Saturday only.

At the clubs this weekend, DJ Seb Fontaine will be at Shine, and Fabolous, Birdman and Lil Wayne at Mansion (pre-buy tickets at Wantickets.com) Thursday; Sasha‘s North American Fall Tour will stop at Mansion Saturday night with special guest Spooky; George Acosta will be spinning the tunes for Space’s Saturday night party and Roger Sanchez will take over Sunday morning.
