I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (It’s Beginning to Look Like Art Basel)
Starting the weekend off on Friday (11/30), 17 years since their last performance together, Artevivo retakes the stage at the Manuel Artime Theater; Miami-Italia is at the Colony Theater (through Saturday 12/1); and Sunset Cinema (movies outdoors on the beach) re-opens for the season with The Hitman and Enchanted. Weather permitting, these movies should be shown every night for the next week. In the holiday spirit or trying to get there? Find a unique holiday gift at Kraftworks 3: Indie Arts & Krafts on Saturday and/or enjoy a holiday music concert at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, complete with cocktails and hor d’ouvres, on Sunday. There’s also the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, in its final weekend, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. As for the art fairs… Like browsing art on a yacht? ARTMB at SeaFair is for you and it begins Saturday (through 12/9). Art Photo Expo’s In Fashion ‘07, featuring some amazing photographic art, begins at the Surfcomber on Sunday (through 12/9). ZONES Art Fair will open on Tuesday (12/4 through 12/10). And CASADECOR ‘07 continues. Visit the Event Calendar for more information on the upcoming satellite fairs and the main event. Also going on this weekend is George Antheil’s Ballet Mécanique, a fully automated/robotic orchestration, is a sight to be seen at the Wolfsonian beginning Saturday through December 11th. Looking for a unique dining experience? Dinner in Paradise begins Sunday (12/2) and will continue weekly through April. At the clubs, Friday Busta Rhymes will be at Mansion and Max Graham will be leading the party Saturday. At Club Space, the Saturday morning afterhours party with Boris begins at 4am, and join Oscar G Saturday night. To check out more parties and happy hours, visit the Event Calendar. Be sure to rest up for your art excursions next weekend!
