Introducing Jonah Wolfson: Miami Beach’s New Commissioner
Congratulations to Jonah Wolfson, Miami Beach’s new Commissioner. Yesterday, Miami Beach voters went to the polls and elected Jonah Wolfson over Luis Salom to the Group 4 Seat of the Miami Beach Commission. Jonah garnered 55.29% of the vote. At 32 years of age, Johan was the youngest candidate in the election. He received endorsements from Senator Bob Graham, Miami Herald, SunPost, Miami Vision Blogorama, Teamsters Union, Service Employees Union, Communications Union, and Firefighters Union Local 1403. A Miami native, Jonah was born at Doctor’s Hospital in Coral Gables, and went on to study at Gulliver Prep School and then at Boston College, where he earned a B.A. in English. Following his studies in Boston, he continued his education, graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law. In law school, Jonah was an intern at the Cook County Office of the Public Defender, where he met is wife, Andrea. Jonah and Andrea Wolfson have been married for seven years. Andrea is now an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where she serves as division chief, prosecuting primarily homicide cases.
