Ingrid Hoffmann Video Interview About the Latin Burger and Taco Truck

January 27, 2010 By Carlos Miller in Miami: Food & Restaurant News  | 4 Comments

It’s hard to resist the charm of Latin Burger and Taco, especially when celebrity chef Ingrid Hoffmann makes an appearance at one of its various outings throughout Miami.

That charm of the mobile food truck is so strong that they’ll serve you a burrito and convince you it’s a taco. At $2.50, it even costs the same as a taco in your local Tex-Mex joint.

But it’s a burrito. A mini-burrito. Slightly larger than your basic taco.

And it’s a damn good burrito. Especially the pulled pork that comes wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla with chopped avocados, onions and cilantro.

At least that is what the menu says. It tastes a lot more complex than that with flavors that leave your taste buds tingling. Wait, did I just say that?

I’m not a food writer and will not even attempt to come up with a multitude of colorful descriptions and metaphors to describe the food, including the other “tacos” and Macho Burger, so I will leave it to Food Network celebrity chef Ingrid Hoffmann, who spoke to us on video about Latin Burger and Taco this week.

Ingrid Describes The Food And Concept Behind Latin Burger Better Than Any Writer Can

Hoffmann, along with her beau, Jim Heins, launched Latin Burger late last year and have quickly earned a loyal following as they set up the truck in various locations throughout Miami.

Heins, who is the investor behind Latin Burger, acknowledges the tacos are burritos, but Latin Burger and Burrito just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

But the Latin Macho Burger is pure burger. A double patty that consists of chuck, sirloin and chorizo smothered in caramalized onions, Oaxaca cheese, jalapenos and one of Hoffman’s specialty sauces, made from either red peppers or avocados. Maybe one day they’ll throw bacon on it.

Hoffmann proves she is not only a quality chef who is passionate about her food, but a Social Media Expert as well.

You can follow Latin Burger and Taco (literally) on Twitter and on Facebook.
