Miami has its first professional soccer team in more than a decade. The Brazilian-based promotions company Traffic Sports USA announced that it will own and operate the Miami Football Club, which will begin play in April 2006 in the 12-team United Soccer League. Miami FC will play a 28-game schedule in a league that serves as the second tier pro league under Major League Soccer.

Where the team will play is uncertain. The Orange Bowl, Florida International University and Ted Hendricks Stadium at Hialeah apossibilities. The USL says a decision will be made in the coming weeks.
