Pool Parties in Miami: Saturdays at the RX Gansevoort Pool Party

When it comes to the weekend in South Beach, it’s all about the pool parties. Various hotels host parties throughout the weekend but the hottest one to see and be seen at is the RX party held at the rooftop pool at The Gansevoort Hotel.

GETTING IN TO THE PARTY

Getting in to this pool party is like trying to get backstage past the minders at a concert. First the entrance is not in the main hotel lobby but at the Plunge door. If you try to access it from the lobby a security guard will send you back to the Plunge door. Here you have to show your ID as the party is strictly over 21s. And no fakes please, the doormen use a scanner to make sure it’s really you.

Next you get your wristband to gain access to the rooftop pool and are ushered to the elevators. The elevators are monitored by yet another doorman and they go only from the lobby straight up to the rooftop with no stopping at the hotel floors in between. In fact, this part of getting to the pool is so strict not even Gansevoort residents and guests can sneak up from their floors. Everyone has to use the direct access elevators. But once you get past the security it is up to the pool and here is where the fun begins.

THE ROOFTOP POOL

The first thing you see as you walk out is beautiful people everywhere. The bar area is to your left, tables on your right and the pool is directly in front of you. There is something for everyone depending on how extravagant a day you choose to have. You can choose between beds, sofas, loungers or huge comfy chairs that easily fit at least two people. Large groups share the beds and tables for bottle service and many choose to hang out alongside the pool. The DJ is set up at the far end of the pool spinning music all afternoon long and the atmosphere is happy, relaxed and fun.

ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN MIAMI ARE HERE

South Beach has a reputation of beautiful people visiting all year round and this pool party does not disappoint. Guys on vacation looking for the hot girls, this is the place for you. Boys wear the casual T shirt and shorts look but the girls use this setting as a fashion show for the smallest sexiest bikinis they own. Bikinis resembling lingerie are everywhere and don’t make the mistake of wearing flat sandals. Every girl is wearing heels and coupled with their skimpy bikinis you end up feeling you are standing backstage at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

THE PARTY LASTS INTO THE NIGHT

The atmosphere around the pool is one of pure enjoyment. The bars are busy, drinks are flowing, the music is good and people spend the day in or alongside the pool having a great day in South Beach. The view from the top of the hotel is breathtaking and many chose to hang out by the long glass windows to look down at the city and beach. Large groups enjoy bottle service and it is definitely a place to host a birthday. The party goes on until 8:30pm and people stay all day drinking, lounging, flirting and dancing.

I left soon after sunset and the party was still going strong, although by that time a few partiers had passed out on lounge chairs. A day drinking in the sun will do that to you! The atmosphere changes from fun in the sun to a more seductive one as the night draws in and many girls and guys had coupled off by this time. At 8:30pm the pool area is closed off for the next part of the evening and the night time party continues in the bar area until the early hours of the morning.

The combination of alcohol and sunshine proved to be too much for some!

The RX Party offers everything; drinks, music and dancing along with lounging by the pool in the sun, hot girls in tiny bikinis, and young guys willing to spend big amounts on bottle service. All the glamorous people are here enjoying themselves, so if you are looking for a classic Miami pool party while on vacation, this is the party for you.

Funny.  A bunch of fat shlubs with hot women.  I wonder what attracts these women to them?  Hmmm.

I’m here in South Beach and I’d like to go to that party.
Do they party only on Saturday?
At what time the party starts?
And how much is the “ticket” to go in?
Thank you!

Jess says:

Hi Silvia,
Yes this party is only on Saturdays. I got there around 2pm and stayed till dark. I am not sure about the entrance fee but if you are girls there is a chance you won’t have to pay.
Have fun!

I think I would hate every single person at this party. That dude in the blue and white boards shorts looks cool. The rest? DOUCHE-FEST.

Staying in South Beach next week….and would like to go to that place but looks like the kinda place the guys would shout “USA USA” is a very obnoxious way

Matt Meltzer says:

Hahahaha. Please. There might be three Americans in all those pictures combined.

Nite says:

LOL Right on Matt! I’m pretty sure most people in Miami don’t even realise they are technically within the boundaries of the United States.

Matt Meltzer says:

That’s why I’m never worried about terrorists attacking Miami. If the goal is to kill Americans they would fail miserably.

John says:

Mr Manchester; why on earth would someone do that?
