Got A Question About Miami? MiamiBeach411 Has (the Best) Answers

One of my jobs at MiamiBeach411 is helping answer member’s questions in our Forum. I love answering questions, but sometimes I’m not as busy as I’d like to be. So, in my spare time, I’ve also started participating at Yahoo Answers. If you don’t know about Yahoo Answers, I recommend you check it out. Yahoo describes it as…

“a community-driven knowledge market that allows users to ask questions of other users and answer other users’ questions.”

Here’s my public profile. You can scroll to the bottom of the page and see a list of questions that I’ve participated in.

One cool feature about Yahoo Answers is they encourage participation and reward great answers with a system of points and levels. The number of points you get depends on the specific action you take; they allow everyone to recognize how active and helpful you’ve been. And they give you an excuse to brag to your friends.

Please allow me to do some bragging. This week, I reached Level 3, and my profile shows I have a 60% Best Answer Rate. I’m having a blast and hope to reach Level 4 by the Spring.

Hi, Matt. In the last 30 days, 91 people have visited us from Yahoo Answers. That may not sound like much when you think that we’ve had over 391,000 visitors in that time. But to be honest, I do it to keep my answering skills sharp. Remember “Karate Kid”? Wax on, wax off.

Plus, I truly enjoy helping people. It must be the waiter in me.
