Sherbrooke Hotel: South Beach's
Best Kept Secret |
|
|
|
|
Although I have visited South Beach on several occasions
previously, I recently visited (August 2002) and can proclaim,
definitively, that I experienced the best accommodation
thus far! I discovered the Sherbrooke Hotel, located on
Collins Ave., in the heart of everything that is South
Beach!!
If you have had any experience with accommodations in
South Beach, one quickly realizes that almost all hotels
proclaim that properties are "first class."
It can become a trite, and often inaccurate, description
of properties once your eyes actually view it firsthand.
However, the Sherbrooke
Hotel is definitely one of those understated properties.
First of all, the ALL SUITES hotel rooms are HUGE, complete
with a sitting area at the entrance, fully equipped kitchen(even
a full-sized refrigerator and microwave no less).
The bedroom area is large as well, with a ceiling fan
and a host of cable channels available on the television.
Further, one of the greatest highlights, is the fact that
the suite has a dedicated central air unit with a personal
thermostat, so that you can adjust the exact temperature
to your preference. This is quite a PLUS in the South
Beach area to be in total control of your room's temperature,
coupled with a unit that can EASILY achieve the temperature
you desire -- even in the heat of summer!!
Other atypical conveniences of the Sherbrooke Hotel is
the INDIVIDUAL and DIRECT phone line that is in the room
-- no operators or switchboards necessary. Your suite
has its own phone number just as you would have in your
own home. And, finally, yet another great point, is the
security of the hotel. The doors of the hotel stay LOCKED
AT ALL TIMES and your key to the front door allows access
to the hotel. Further, to allow for visitors to your room,
an intercom at the front entrance allows the person to
call your room using the directory and keypad.
The suite was very clean and neat and the individualized
service uncompromising. Mitch, property manager of The
Sherbrooke, is quite attentive to any needs or concerns
and he is only a phone call away if assistance is warranted
by the guest. I have nothing but the highest regards for
Mitch and his operation of The Sherbrooke. Undoubtedly,
my next itinerary to South Beach will include accommodations
at The Sherbrooke and yours should as well!! My sincere
"thanks" to Mitch for making it a great stay!!
