New Street Signs in Miami BeachThe City of Miami Beach is getting brand new street signs to help visitors from getting lost. That first batch of signs will be up by next winter; more will follow, until all the city’s signs have been replaced. A preview of the new signs is available on on the city’s website. The 154 page Graphic Signage Manual makes for interesting reading. It forbids anagrams, and stipulates that ‘a positive tone must accompany all messages:
The city is spending $1.5 million on the project. The signs will be built to withstand hurricane-force winds and heat up to 120 degrees. Hillier Architecture has been retained for the project.

That has to be one of the most ridiculous wastes of money i have ever seen…not to mention destroys the view. Do they want to make sure people don’t turn around thinking they are lost and in West Palm Beach or something…
No words, nice to know Miami Beach has money. Must be all those parking tickets they collect from tourists and people who work here.. now we see where the money goes. Signs..
