Westin Hotel on Watson Island

Starwood Hotels has announced plans to build a 350-room Westin hotel on Miami’s Watson Island. Situated on Biscayne Bay, with views of Downtown and Port of Miami, the hotel will be part of the $480-million mixed-use Island Gardens project. Other phases of the project include a 50-slip “super yacht” harbor, shops, restaurants plus luxury residences.

The Westin Island Gardens is due to open in early 2008. Is it too early to add them to the Miami hotel map? Yeah.
