What’s happening MiamiWelcome Miami News readers. I’ve been sick and away on vacation for the past few weeks. Sorry for the light posting. I finally got caught up on my RSS feeds. Below is a roundup to some interesting discussions happening around town: • Rick asks if the residents of South Beach are a group of elitists? I say no. We’re just happy not being a slave to the car. • South Beach has brand new lifeguard stands. Looks like Miami photo blogger, srcohiba, took the first picture. • Google loves Critical Miami. So does Miami Beach 411. • Miami’s top bloggers discuss Cuban places to eat. Where do you go to buy rice and beans? • Who would have thought, Jackie Gleason Theatre has it’s very own sucks site. Thankfully Cirque du Soleil came to their senses, and decided to house their clowns elsewhere. • The Airport in Ft. Lauderdale has the fastest security lines in Florida. I learned something important on my recent trip. • White Dade gives us the pros and cons about smoking Weed, snorting Coke, and rolling on Ecstasy. He says Weed is for lightweights, Coke is for losers, but he may be down for some E. • The Miami “Cocaine Cowboys” documentary premiered at the Colony Theatre. SotP was invinted to attend, Rick gave it a thumbs up. • MetroBlogging Miami accuses South Beach of gas gouging. And… • Stingy bloggers are withholding their link love. Other sneezers call for a witch hunt. I’m down. Let’s burn them at the stake. • Riptide is not afraid to show public displays of affection. They’ve started a daily column on their site called “Blog of the Day”. • Alesh says, what the big deal about a college football fight. I agree with him. C’mon, boys will be boys. • Even though Professor Froomkin and I are both under-the-weather, he still managed to bust a cap on the GOP political sleaze.
