What’s There To Do? (Wine Fair, Jewelry Show, Halloween and more!)

The 7th Annual Miami Wine Fair is at the Convention Center this week. Don’t miss this opportunity to sample wines from around the globe.

Also at the Convention Center is the Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show with many treasures to be discovered.

Halloween festivities around town include the Monster Splash Nighttime Halloween Bash at the Seaquarium all weekend long; Halloween Family Day at the Botanical Garden; and Family Harvest Day at Fairchild Tropical Gardens.

Help raise money for a good cause and have a great time while you’re at it! The Italian Wine Showcase, at the Biltmore Hotel today, will include a walk around wine tasting open to the public as well as a silent auction to benefit the United Way of Miami-Dade. The March of Dimes Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganzava, including plenty of fantastic food and celebrities, is at the InterContinental. The American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes is happening at Bayfront Park on Saturday. Raise funds and walk for the cause, or watch out for the traffic!

Festival Miami continues this weekend with Bruce Hornsby & Friends, as well as a Songwriters Showcase, an Evening with Alan and Marilyn Bergman, and blues legend Honeyboy Edwards. More music not to miss is Gloria Estefan in concert at Hard Rock Live; Mexican rock band Jaguares and The Australian Pink Floyd Show (Saturday & Sunday) at the Fillmore Miami Beach; and Neil Diamond at the BankAtlantic Center. For the younger crowd, the Cheetah Girls are at the AA Arena.

Films at the Cinematheque include political films Sisters on the Planet and Michael Moore’s Slacker Uprising; and French director Claude Chabrol’s Le Boucher (The Butcher) (1969) and A Girl Cut in Two (La Fille coupée en deux) (2008).

Looking for more? Perhaps you’d be interested in the Celebrity Chef Series with Giada De Laurentiis at the Knight Concert Hall; Stiltsville, Cape Florida Lighthouse & Key Biscayne Boat Tour; a South Beach Art Deco Walk; Kitchen Garden Day at Fairchild Tropical Gardens; viewing the Hunters Moon under the stars at Fruit & Spice Park; or taking in a football game when the Miami Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills.

And I haven’t even gotten into what’s going on at the clubs!!! You’ll find local superstars The Spam Allstars and special guest DJs Ruckus, Behrouz and Danny Howells. Visit the Nightlife section of the Event Calendar for even more parties.
