What’s There To Do? (SoBe Wine & Food Festival Weekend)

Start off the weekend meeting the locals, including MB411’s Gus (and Michelle?), at The Tiki Bar behind Courtyard Marriott (3925 Collins Avenue) Friday at 5:30pm for a (hopefully) amazing sunset. Need more info? They’re talking about it in the Forums.

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival takes place at various locations around town all weekend long. Enjoy wine tastings, wine pairings, seminars with world famous chefs, dinners, parties, family fun, and more! In conjunction with the Wine & Food Festival and to benefit Miami Beach Cinematheque, Oscar Night® America “SoBe Style’’ will be held at the Paris Theater Sunday night.

On stage this weekend you can see DL Hughley at Miami Improv, Circus Circus Cabaret at the Manuel Artime Theater,  Liberty City at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts (there’s a free lecture related to this on Saturday), A Chorus Line or Murdered by the Mob at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and Footloose at the Parker Playhouse. Miami Beach Cinematheque presents Oscar® Shorts 2009 with Oscar®-nominated Animated and Live Action short films Friday and Saturday nights. Also at the Cinematheque this weekend is Max Ophuls’ newly restored 1950’s film Le Plaisir (Pleasure).

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida presents three tours this weekend: Coral Gables Twilight Walking Tour, Pan Am Artifacts and Aviation in South Florida Coach Tour, Overtown Walking Tour & People’s Bar-B-Que Lunch. And then there are the ever famous parties. Don’t miss Mansion’s 5 Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday or check out Arabian Nights, the newest addition to the list. Parties are added continuously so be sure to check back often!
