What’s There To Do? (WMC & Funkshion Fashion Week)

You can’t get very far in Miami Beach this week without stumbling into a WMC-related party (visit the Event Calendar and Forum for lists). The official events culminate with the Ultra Music Festival on Saturday but the parties continue into the wee hours of Monday morning.

If you prefer fashion over partying, or are just looking for something to do earlier in the day, trip on over to Funkshion Fashion Week in Lummus Park.

Art aficionados: don’t miss ArteAmericas, the Latin American art fair, at the Convention Center through Monday.

More interested in the SoBe International Animation Film Festival? Film screenings and related events will be held at Miami Beach Cinematheque, Miami Science Museum, and the Tower Theater all weekend long.

Want to learn more about Miami? Those of you living in the Miami area may appreciate the Home Design & Remodeling Show going on at the Convention Center.

Other events to check out: Art is Life charity event benefitting Miami’s homeless kids; live performances by Mariza at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and Xiomara Laugart at the Miami-Dade Auditorium; an outdoor screening of last year’s hit movie Mamma Mia at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Another worthy note this week! Don’t know what to do with all those bridesmaids dresses or evening gowns you’ll never wear again? Drop them off at the Village at Merrick Park in Coral Gables for Project Prom Dress Friday through Sunday.
