Sterling Casino: Craps experience on the Sterling
By Yukfoo from Daytona, FL on July 18, 2006.
My recent visit to the Sterling Casino was very uncomfortable and stressful. On the evening of July 15th, 2006, I observed the following at the crap tables. Sterling’s personnel were yelling and harassing every player that was setting up the dice to throw in their favorite way, yelling at them to “hurry up and just pick them up and throw them”, and threatening to take the dice from the shooter or remove their bets if they didn’t comply. This could only be compared to some kind of crap boot camp, and the boxman, floorman, and pit boss compared to “Drill Instructors”. The game of craps is suppose to be a fun game, lots of yelling and screaming from the players, not the casino personnel, and where the “players control the dice”, or at least have the illusion of control. The casino personnel responsible made everyone at the tables feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, not what you would normally expect from a “world class casino”.
I have also visited the following evening the other casino ship that departs from Port Canaveral, Suncruz Casinos, and not once did I observe them trying to intimidate, harass or make any other kind of negative gestures to anyone of the crap players. It was a much more laid back environment and pleasant experience.
So, to sum it all up? If you’re looking for a fun gambling experience, I personally would not recommend gambling at this casino.
Sterling Casino is located at 101 George J King Blvd., Cape Canaveral, FL 32920.
