Van Dyke: Customer service does not exist here  

While we had family in town we decided to go to Van Dyke for lunch.  We were seated, and waited about 15 minutes until a girl finally came and took our order.  We waited and watched other people be seated, get waited on, (by our waitress!) and finally, we stopped her and asked about our food.  She didn’t know, but she would check on it.  We watched her and she never did anything.  I finally went to the manager (after waiting an hour) and told him our story.  He said he would check on it, and came back to explain, unfortunately, they had a new computer system, and our order had been lost in the system, he found it and assured us our food was being prepared.  Then he comes back 5 minutes later, and explains that one of the dishes we ordered could not be prepared!  Over an hour wait, then they tell us they couldn’t prepare a dish, we promptly stood up and all he said was “Sorry, folks.”  We will never go there again, and will tell anyone who thinks about it, not to bother.
