Emeril's: Embarrassing to Take Guests to Emeril’s  

The whole experience was not worth the 30 minute trip from the Gables to Emeril’s. I have never been embarrassed by a restaurant’s service before, but the staff at Emeril’s finally did it. They were blatantly trying to rush us in and out and flip the table as fast as possible. We had not even opened the menus before a waittress was trying to take our dinner order.  We had to literally tell her to leave us alone to get a few minutes to read the menu. After ordering, we were asked if we wanted our salads and appetizers at the same time….I guess we just couldn’t eat fast enough for them. Undaunted by their persistance, we had a leisurely meal and watched as nearby tables were furiously flipped.  Having grown up near New Orleans, the food was definitely mediocre. The puzzling disarray of appetizers, salads, soups, and entrees made it difficult to put together a harmonious meal.  Needless to say, the whole experience is not one to be repeated.  Watch out - this is a tourist trap.
