DeVito's: Manager leaves a bad taste   5-Star rating

I went to this place last night with a buddy of mine. We went to Prime 112 but there was a 2 hour wait so we went to DeVito’s and they were able to seat us right away. Great so far.

Our server was good so we placed our order. We both ordered the steaks and we both requested them to be cooked med-well. When we got our steaks they were RARE.

SO far no big deal it happens to the best of us. So our server says he will send out the manager and see if they can get us so new steaks. Sounds good. Then the “Executive Manager” Paolo Accarpio appears. I ask him if he could please get us new steaks and that we don’t mind waiting, I figured we would order a few more drinks while they made our new steaks.

To my total surprise the manager says “NO, we will only reheat them.” I then tell him that at $60+ per steak I expect them to be cooked properly the first time. Also, when you reheat a steak it never tastes as good (he should know that since he is a “Executive Manager” at a high end restaurant). And when we ordered the steaks, we asked them to butterfly the steaks in order to make sure they are cooked properly and these guys didn’t even do that.

He had no comment and he brought us over the bill so we could leave…I was very shocked and surprised at the HORRIBLE ATTITUDE of this manager. As I’m leaving the restaurant I ask one of the girls up front who I need to contact in reference to this guy’s bad attitude. As she’s about to tell me, Paolo Accarpio “Executive Manager FOH Operations” walks over and hands me his business card to let me know he’s the guy in charge. I felt he was trying to stick it to me as we were leaving. If he is in charge, DeVito’s is going to be in trouble.

Had this “Manager” just simply remade the steaks I would have spent more money by buying more drinks and I would have come back to give more business and referred friends.

Instead this manager’s approach was, “Let’s upset the customer and hope they will never come back or refer any of there friends and family.” GOOD ONE PAOLO ACCARPIO “Executive Manager”

There is a reason why Prime 112 had a 2 hour wait and and DeVito’s didn’t.

Could not agree with you more. We als had a bad experience at deVitos. It’s way too overpriced and the manager is truly a nasty piece of work. Defensive and argumentative and a bully.

If they remve him DeVitos stands a chance of surving, the decor is great and the staff are helpful. they do need to fire the chef and the manager Paulo for it to get back on track.

Guys, go check out Rancho Argentino at 1415 Washington Ave.
Argentineas are well known for their steak.
Is not as high class as Devito’s, but I warranty the manager and the steak will be ten times better.

We also had really bad experience… Waiters were unorganized and dont treat you like they should… Food was a disaster… Fish was old…
