La Lupa Di Roma: Horrible service   5-Star rating

We are from Canada and are easily serviced.  We as Canadians, do not expect much.  But as a Canadian, and Asian, we feel it is our right to post this… to warn others.  We do not expect much, take our order, see us once or more and we are happy.  Simple. Unfortunately we got less than that here.  My mother who is very polite says to leave it as this.  We do not recommend it. The service is horrible.  I will give you more reasons in the next posting if you really care.

"Horrible service"

I do remember you and your family.Very true that your mother was polite, unfurtunatly, you were extremely rude and my staff did not want to come to your table anymore. As the owner of this restaurant,I make sure that everything is fine with my costumer, but when they don’t respect my staff I have they right to tell them that nobody deserved to be mistread while they are working.

I agree 110%.  We came in to the restaurant fairly early, and received loads of attention until we said we felt our wine was only fair (not the exceptional that they kept pushing for us to say).  After that, we saw no one - no one to take our dessert order, no one to bring our check, no one to take our payment…and then they had the audacity to add 17% gratuity for a party of 3!  Spend your money somewhere else - you’ll be happier!

You will see that every restaurant in Licoln Road adds 15 to 17 % gratuity to the costumer check.So, it’s not strange that we added to at our restuarant.It’s the costumer decision to remove the added gratuity.On the other hand, good wine is loved by people who know italian wine and all its notes.And, if the service was so unattentive, how come that my staff asked you about the wine? I will not call that unattentive service.

I and another colleague were with Celeste.  One of the mains, the lobster risotto, was almost inedible.  As you will note from Celeste’s comment, it was at the point when we would not agree that the wine was exceptional that service became non existent.  I’m a big fan of Italian wine, and my cellar contains many bottles.  The wine we were served was not a good wine.  We did not receive good service.  And I wish we had removed the gratuity from the bill.

I could not agree more, the service at La Lupa Di Roma was truly awful. I’m British and come to Miami a lot and have been to quite a few of the restaurants on Lincoln but strangely I had never been to this one and I won’t be going back. I could not eat the risotto, it was that bad. The guy who served us, I think he owns the place, was the least genuine person I had met. Once it was clear we didn’t think the wine he had recommended for us was that great, we didn’t see him again. It took ages to take our dessert order and to give us our bill. We weren’t rude but very polite through the whole fiasco, unlike our host. There are many other restaurants on Lincoln, do yourself a favour, spend your hard earned money in them, not this one.
