This is truly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. BUT, it has the most glorious location in all of South Beach! It’s right there on 9th and Ocean, you honestly can’t get better than that. Plus, if you’re in South Beach you’d be an idiot to stay indoors the whole time.
The hotel serves it’s purpose, it provides a shower and bed. Sure you can hear the Spanish beats playing all night long and neighbors making unruly noises but that’s part of the atmosphere.
This place is perfect if you’re not looking for a 5 star hotel….or 4 star…3…2…or even a 1 star hotel. But you’re in the middle of the South Beach action!! I would say this place is not family friendly, but a great place for party go-ers. It’s not terribly expensive either. I think every city should have a Breakwater! My boss at the Non-profit I work at is looking forward to staying at the Breakwater next time he visits Miami!
