Having lived in Miami for too many years, we decided to take good friends to a thank you dinner at Joe’s Stone Crabs. What a total disappointment that night turned out to be. I had fond memories of Joes because even though they flip the table as fast as they can, usually the stone crabs make up for the bum’s rush. This time not only were the stone crabs the worst we ever had (they were tasteless and stuck to shell, sure sign that they were frozen) but the waiter was rude and pretentious. We will never go back, not even for their take away. They no longer care to have locals patronize their factory. I think they are hoping for the tourist from the midwest who will be just impressed by having been at this place but certainly will not remember the food.
