Shelborne Hotel: Theft Due to Lack of Security

NO SECURITY, THEFT ON UNSECURED PROPERTY on my first day at hotel POOL. UNSECURED GATE on Property!!! My first hour at the Shelborne Hotel pool and my bag was taken by a thief who wandered on to the property b/c of the lax security. The thief took my purse and ran out of the UNLOCKED back gate while the Security guard chatted it up at the towel booth with the attendant. I notified Security as well at the HOTEL ASST GENERAL MGR and was told ” Well this is South beach and we cant do anything b/c this happens all the time!” Dont stay here! Not only is it a dump b/c its undergoing renovations but none of the HOTEL MGMT OR SECURITY cares! There was NO SECURITY on Sat/ Sun!!! DONT STAY HERE..you will be sorry
