A three day birthday surprise vacation. I made reservations at the Carlton 2 months in advance, however, they claimed the a/c was not working in some of the rooms. They moved us to another hotel owned by the same people, called Hotel Nash. This was a very pleasent hotel. The staff was very friendly, saying hi everytime you walked in or out. It is mandatory to have a credit card to check in (even if the room is paid for). They hold $250 until you check out. The room was a good size: had a queen bed, flat screen tv, mini stereo, closet, iron, blow dryer, small desk, and mini-fridge. The bathroom had a glass shower (a huge plus). I wish they would have gave us a fancier room since it was an inconvenience to switch hotels. Anywho, the maid made sure we always had towels, soap, and even mints and ice. It was always very clean. This hotel had 3 small pools. I didn’t like that the pool closed at 7p.m.; the bar also closed at that time.
The website says they charge NO resort fee, however, when checking out, I was charge approx. $34 as a resort fee. Overall, I give Hotel Nash 3 1/2 stars. It’s located on 11st and Collins avenue. One block from the beach and all the other great places to go in South Beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel but I wonder…did I miss out on anything good at the Carlton?
Hotel Nash is located at 1220 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
