If you’re looking for a dive to stay at in South Beach, this is the place for you. The location and the bar are great. The rest of the hotel is just horrible. First, you notice the dimly lit hallways that have a distinct moldy odor to them. The dim lighting is to hide the low maintenance look of the hotel.
Now, let me tell you about my room. No phone. Noisy air conditioner. Bathroom doors don’t close. Termites…yes we had termites. Mold/mildew stains on the ceilings. NASTY!
Apparently, the only thing the Hotel Shelley believes in cleaning up are all the bad reviews they get on other “city search” sites. Yes, several of my friends have had non-flattering reviews of the Shelley removed.
