Van Dyke: Van Dykes Van Sucks
By Matt from Miami Beach on January 09, 2007.
The waitress, Roxana W, was as pleasant as a rock and just about as knowledgeable. I asked if the Reuben was pastrami or corned beef, she questionably answered corned beef. Feeling as though I was being lied to I figured I’d stay safe and go with pasta. I ordered penne with alfredo and meatballs, my date ordered the linguini with alfredo and “blackened” shrimp. At no point did Roxana W. write any of this down. Our meals came out quickly, so kudos to the kitchen crew. However I received linguini with white sauce and meatballs, but the meatballs had marinara on them, go figure. My date’s pasta came out correct, however there was no “blackened” to be found with the shrimp. When Roxana W came to check and see how we were, it was a casual stroll by the table, barely slowing down to receive an answer. Roxana W was at her best after dropping the check, she returned immediately to pick it up. Lucky for us, there was a 15% gratuity included for her exceptional service. I politely left her a note on the back of the receipt that perhaps she should invest the tip she earned from us in a notebook so she could stop messing up patrons orders. To make a long story even longer, the food was good, the service was horrible. Thanks for a great evening Roxana W!

I think a group of us had this chick Roxana, does she look like iggy pop in drag? regardless the service there was very similar to your experience…slow slow, but good people watching if you get a spot on the street.
