Miami International Airport is located 7 miles west of Miami Beach. The Airport is served directly by taxi, shuttle van, train, limos, and bus.

Taxis, Limos, and Private Shuttle Vans

Taxis, limousine service, and shuttle vans are available on the ground level of the airport terminal, outside of the baggage claim area.

Transportation rates vary, depending on your destination, . The most frequently requested rates are those to Miami Beach which cost a flat rate of $32 for the trip by taxi. The cost to travel to the Port of Miami (seaport) is a flat rate of $24 for the trip by taxi. The cost to travel from the Miami Airport to Ft. Lauderdale Airport is $86 by taxi. Additional rates for taxi and shuttle service are posted on the transportation kiosks located on the ground level of the terminal, outside the baggage claim area. You can also speak to the Aviation Department representatives at the curbside, dressed in blue uniforms.

Shared Airport shuttles

Ground transportation to the airport and from the airport (via SuperShuttle) is available 24 hours per day.s


City Bus Service

For budget conscious travelers, there is a city bus that provides service from the Airport to Miami Beach. To catch the bus, go to the bus station located on the ground level, outside of Concourse E. Board the J Bus and tell the driver you want to go to Miami Beach. When you get to 41st Street and Indian Creek, you'll need to transfer to the C, H, or L Bus. The total travel time is about 1 hour and the cost is $1.50. For more information call (305) 770-3131.

For people traveling to Key West or other areas in the Florida Keys, Greyhound operates the Greyhound Keys Shuttle. They offer scheduled transportation service to Key Largo, Marathon, and Key West. For additional information, contact Greyhound at 1-800-410-5397.


Train Services

The Tri-Rail commuter train provides service from the Miami Airport to Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Bus connections to the Tri-Rail Airport Station are available from the bus station, located on the ground level, outside of Concourse E. For additional information call 1-800-TRI-RAIL.
