The City of Miami Beach issuend evacuations
at 4pm on Thursday 9/2/04.
The evacuation was
lifted at 10am on 9/5/04.
Residents must take
identification. Evacuations will be continuous
throughout the night and will cease two-hours
before the effects of tropical storm force
conditions.
City of Miami Beach
government offices and facilities will
close at 1pm, Thursday 9/2/04.
Beaches, effective Thursday 9/2/04, are
unguarded; lifeguard stations from all
of the City's beaches have been removed.
Beach patrons swim at their own risk.
Beaches are closed when an evacuation
is issued.
All parking garages are open for residential
parking free of charge in the upper floors;
lower floors are reserved for City vehicles.
No garbage service effective immediately.
Businesses, construction sites, and sidewalk
cafes have been advised to bring in outdoor
loose objects/structures and secure their
sites.
Emergency response calls will cease once
tropical storm force winds reach the City.
