User reviewsGrillfish "Stay away"Date: July 13, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Paris, France Gothic decor, OK waiter but a little stuck up. Agree with earlier review on the Shrimp Scampi - stay away from it. One shrimp was not completely cleaned and the pasta was terrible. To top it off a giant cockroach on the wall at the end of our meal...the excuse? "Oh, welcome to Florida!" Grillfish "absolutely atrocious" Date: June 24, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Boston, MA Absolutely atrocious...one of our entrees was undercooked, the shrimp scampi (along with most of the food) had much too much garlic (and I'm from Rome!). I couldn't taste the flavor of the food, I think it was in part because the food has no flavor. I would also add we waited almost 45 minutes for our food and it was not a very busy night. I almost got the impression we should have felt privileged to be "allowed" to eat at their restaurant. Waiter was not very pleasant but not rude either and drinks took a very long time after they were ordered. Just an overall bad experience and bad food more importantly. Grillfish "rehearsal dinner" Date: May 21, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Miami, FL I just attended my niece's rehearsal dinner in miami beach at Grillfish. They offered a private room with a view of South Beach. The food and the service were amazing! I highly recommend Grillfish for a corporate function, wedding rehearsal dinner or any private event while you are in the miami beach or south beach area. Grillfish "Bad Service" Date: May 11, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, New York, NY I have to say that the service of the chef and management really put a sour note on our group dinner. One of the seafood dishes that were ordered was not fully cooked and we "KINDLY" asked if it could be returned to the kitchen to cook it more thoroughly. The chef of the restaurant was "OBVIOUSLY" insulted and started banging his pots and pans in the presence of the entire restaurant. My friends were absolutely appalled at his behavior. Even restaurant management would not help us...kept insisting the food was cooked. Needless to say the seafood dish returned charred and basically inedible. It was definitely a very unpleasant meal experience. Eat at your own risk. Grillfish "Great service" Date: January 17, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, San Diego, CA Just attended a big wedding rehearsal dinner at Grillfish and I was very impressed with the quality and attitude of the servers assigned to our group. They managed our party of about 75 people with absolute professionalism. The meal was delicious and served in a timely manner. Everyone had a great time! Grillfish "Wonderful food" Date: November 23, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Miami, FL I live about 30 minutes away from South Beach but whenever i go with my boyfriend its always to Grilled Fish. The atmosphere is casual and the food is great. Everyone must try the shrimp piccata over pasta, that is the #1 food on my list, nothing beats Grilled Fish. Grillfish "Buffalo Shrimp" Date: May 10, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Atlanta, GA I've had the wonderful opportunity of dining in both the DC and Miami Beach locations, and I must say, the menu in DC is a lot better...one particluar appertiser that I miss when visiting Miami, is the buffalo shrimp. The recipe is superb and should grace the menues of both restaurants. Hope to see it next time i visit South Beach. Grillfish "Grillfish is a favorite" Date: April 27, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Ft. Lauderdale, FL I live 30 miles from South Beach. Many time a year we make the trip to Collins Avenue to enjoy SoBe, but the destination is Grillfish. After passing the resturaunt many times, the engaging atmosphere drew me in and the food keeps me coming back for more. Fish from the grill is my favorite, but it is not a typical filet. It could be described as a 3" cube (Sword fish, Wahoo or Mahi). I've never had a bad meal at Grillfish and I've had more than 15. Strongly Recomended. Enjoy!!
