Adult Fun for Thousands

The Exxxotica Convention contacted us out of the blue and asked if we could help promote their first-ever Miami Beach edition at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Exxxotica is one of the largest adult entertainment conventions in the United States, attracting anywhere from 20,000–40,000 attendees at each major event. Fans get a chance to meet their favorite adult stars, watch live stage shows, attend panels on the adult industry, and explore a massive expo floor with vendors selling everything from lingerie to adult gadgets.

If you’ve ever wondered what really goes on behind the scenes of adult filmmaking, this was the place to ask. The panel, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Porn (But Were Afraid to Ask),” moderated by Genesis Magazine editor Dan Davis, pulled back the curtain on the industry with surprising candor. Writers, directors, and top adult film stars all took part, offering an unfiltered look at how porn actually gets made.

Candy and Cameras: How We Fitted In

In exchange for helping promote the convention, Miami Beach 411 received free passes and our own booth on the Convention Center floor. At first, we weren’t sure how we’d fit in. After all, Miami Beach 411 is a local news and events website. What would adult stars and their fans want from us?

Turns out, not much—until we added a bowl of candy. Suddenly, we were a hit! Everyone was super friendly, chatting with Michelle and me as they made their rounds. Our little booth became a safe, sugar-filled respite amid all the glitz and chaos of Exxxotica.

Insider Tips for First-Time Attendees

If you plan to hit an Exxxotica event, here are a few things we noticed: stage shows are packed early, so arrive at least 30 minutes ahead if you want a good spot. Fans love the autograph sessions, but lines can get long—so bring a snack or a candy bowl of your own. And the expo floor? Give yourself a few hours, because there’s so much to see and buy—from novelty items to high-end lingerie.
