📌 Key Details:
The Delano Hotel is one of South Beach’s most iconic luxury landmarks, celebrated for its bold design, upscale energy, and prime location along Collins Avenue. Set within a historic Art Deco building, the hotel blends timeless Miami Beach glamour with modern sophistication, from its dramatic lobby to its elegant guest rooms and legendary pool scene that has long shaped South Beach nightlife. After an extensive transformation, the Delano is set to reopen in March 2026, reintroducing a refreshed take on this classic destination—just steps from the beach and surrounded by world-class dining, shopping, and entertainment.
As Miami Beach 411 was finding its footing, one unforgettable moment helped shape its future. In the days leading up to New Year’s Eve 2003, the General Manager of the Delano Hotel personally reached out to Gus Moore, asking if Miami Beach 411 could help promote the hotel’s big New Year’s Eve bash. Gus—who was still waiting tables at the time while running the site on pure hustle—was absolutely thrilled. He immediately revamped the entire Miami Beach 411 homepage to spotlight the Delano’s events, and the promotion was a hit. The GM even followed up to say thank you.
But then came the plot twist: days later, the Delano’s marketing director called Gus, furious, demanding the Delano’s name be removed and scolding him for daring to use the brand—apparently forgetting who had asked for the promotion in the first place. Gus, equal parts shocked and amused, politely (and firmly) told him to kick rocks.
That awkward, slightly ridiculous phone call turned out to be a gift—it lit a fire under Gus and Michelle, pushing them to double down on Miami Beach 411, trust their instincts, and take full ownership of their vision. Sometimes all it takes is one “you can’t do that” to prove exactly why you should.
